Welcome to Albert Bick Woodturning

Woodturning has proved a very challenAlbert Power sanding a large bowlging and satisfying hobby for me over the last twenty years and, following my redundancy in July 2002, I decided to allow it to take over completely and have set up a small woodturning business.

I am largely self-taught, with welcome advice along the way from other friendly, experienced turners. I work from home (in Southam, Warwickshire), with my garden workshop having undergone several necessary extensions over recent years. I am a member of Woodturners of Great Britain and a founder member of Offchurch Woodturning Group. Part-time teaching at Southam College enables me to pass on my skills and enthusiasm to other novice and improving woodturners with a similar passion for creating sawdust!

I work with both English and foreign hardwoods and am keen toAlbert turning a large platter experiment with different woods and materials. I amAlbert making final sanding on a fruit bowl lucky to live in a rural area where local people are kind enough to deliver felled trees to my back door! Some of my favourite work has been on Australian burrs and grass tree root. However, the collection also includes the usual turned items, such as fruit, bowls, vases, light pulls, etc. I am always happy to discuss any requests or commissions for specific pieces.
